HOUSE RULES

When you visit us, please bear in mind that the Botanical Garden is part of the private grounds of the Ruhr-University Bochum. The Botanical Garden is primarily used for research and teaching and houses a valuable scientific plant collection. This applies to both the outdoor area and the greenhouses. We therefore ask all visitors to adhere to the following rules:

  1. Vistors enter the Botanic Garden at their own risk
  2. Please stay on the paths, no stepping into beds or seemingly empty areas
  3. No picking or collecting of plants, flowers, fruits or mushrooms
  4. Dogs only outdoors and on a short lead - no dogs inside the display glasshouses
  5. Children unter 12 must be accompanied by an adult - no climbing! The garden ponds pose a risk of drowning
  6. Bicycles must be pushed - no e-scooters, skateboards etc.
  7. No private events without permission
  8. No BBQs
  9. No alcohol, no drugs
  10. No ball games
  11. No drones
  12. No commercial activities without permission
  13. Professional photography and filming only with permission (see "Photography & Filming")
  14. No displaying of posters or distribution of flyers without permission
  15. Instructions by garden staff must be followed
